NRG Enterprises

We are a company of outdoor fanatics dedicated to providing innovative and quality products with the best possible customer service to the sporting goods industry - since 1989. We ride, we work, then we ride some more. As addicted to the mountains as we are to getting the job done right. Here’s the quick and dirty on the guys who make up NRG Enterprises Ltd:

Ramin “Shroom” Sherkat

Sales and Marketing
NRG since 1989 (founder)

First mountain bike: 1981 Maruishi 5-speed

Ramin is one of the North Shore’s original mountain bikers, cutting his singletrack teeth on the resident burl of his childhood home - Vancouver’s infamous Deep Cove. One of Canada’s top XC racers back in the day, Ramin founded NRG in 1989 after discovering PowerBars while racing in Colorado.  Today Shroom still pounds in the up and the down, addicted to the numerous epics that hide in his Nelson, BC backyard.

Today, if he’s not rock climbing or hanging out with his two kids, he’s either on his Kona CoilAir or logging big miles on his Gios road bike. With a `second job’ as an ACMG ski guide in the winter, Ramin keeps it real while searching for the ultimate balance.

Mike “Skinny” Seniuk

Purchasing & Customer Service
NRG since 1994

First mountain bike:
1985 Araya MB 267

Mike loves flowy, technical singletrack, all day mountain epics, strong coffee, sharp cheese, peanut butter, and pastry. He’s been passionate about riding bikes since he could hold on to a handlebar, living for the euphoria a good hammer session brings.

“It cleans the mind and the soul,” says Mike. Doesn’t matter if it’s XC, DH, freeride, singlespeed, cross, or road, Skinny does it all. “Cycling has given me some of my greatest friends, a family of like-minded individuals, a healthy lifestyle and a positive outlook on life,” he says. “I feel fortunate to be involved in an industry that I am truly passionate about.”

Not bad for a guy who got a BA in hacky sack and Frisbee at the University of Manitoba.

Chris “Jorge” George

Sales, Warranty and Warehouse Manager
NRG since 2003

First mountain bike: 1989 Team Fat Chance

One of the best all round riders in the Kootenays, Jorge’s as loyal a cyclist as you’ll find. The type of guy who’ll race the Test of Metal on a singlespeed one weekend, and enter Golden’s hair raising Psychosis on his DH rig the next. Chris has been featured in the early Kranked films and still keeps his custom 16 year old Maurice Lavoi Titanium bike enshrined in the basement.

“My favorite ride?” he asks. “Doesn’t matter what kind, or what bike I’m on, as long as it takes up most of the day.”

Travis Hauck

Warehouse Manager
NRG since 2008

First mountain bike: 15-speed Zellers Mountaineer

“My best friend had the same one and we rode the sh..t out of them. I was 10 and I started dropping five step staircases and learning wheelies. I'm 30 now and still doing the same stuff.”

Travis moved to Nelson from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in the fall of ’99.  Hoping that all computers would crash on Y2K and magically put money into his bank account, snowboarding and riding everyday was priority.

Today he digs epic enduro/backcountry with his fellow NRGs, downhill with the bruthas, and road with his lady friend.

Travis has been a NRG sales rep for the East Kootenays and Alberta for the past four years, and now takes the reigns as warehouse manager at NRG HQ.
